Wesley Methodist Primary School Forth Road, Manchester

Welcome to the Y5/6W information page!

The children have been working really hard during our first term, getting into the routine and organisation necessary to make progress and have a great time!

I'd like to take this opportunity to explain some of those routines.

Spellings take place every Friday and the children are currently being tested on words taken from the National Curriculum wordlist for Y5 and 6. Yes they are challenging- but the children are really equiping themselves well, learning these and achieving improving scores.

Writing and Mathematics homework is given every week and there is a significant upturn in the quality of the work submitted by the children.

I would be grateful if you could maintain your support with listening to the children read and signing the 'Reading Record' - this is most beneficial.

The children have been involved in some really exciting projects in class including 'Animation' in IT and building catapults - linked to the Anglo Saxon history project.

We have included here, pictures of the models and - from the fantastic evening held in school - the 'Monster Ball'.
